Slack Communication
Slack is the main messenger that we use in this course.
You need to know how to use it to stay in touch with your classmates, tutors, and community manager. That software will make your learning process easier and more productive.
Organize your profile
It is important for us to be able to find and contact you quickly on Slack.
- Set your real photo as a profile photo
- Set your name and surname as a nickname
Direct Messages
It's much better to ask questions in common channels, so you can reach out to more people to help you solve your problem faster.
In case you are too shy, use in direct messages.
You can find this option in the upper left-hand corner. Click “new message” and type in the name of the person you want to contact, then enter the name of the person you want to send your message to
Slack Apps
You can use Slack on any device
Threads
Threads are what makes Slack different from other messengers. If you want to ask something, add a comment or leave your feedback, click “reply in thread”, don’t create a new thread. That will help us keep our channels clean, organized, and easy to navigate.
💡 If you want to ask something else or share something new, you can create a new thread.
Other functions
- You can add reactions (to indicate that you have received the information);
- You can comment and ask questions in threads;
- You can share a message with other users;
- You can save a message.
💡 When you create threads or reply in threads, don’t forget to tag your instructor asking questions. In that case your instructor will definitely see your message and you will get the answer.
How to share your code
Throughout your studying process, you may face some difficulties and it's okay.
To make your code readable you can use the built-in code editor.
If you need to share your code please use https://pastebin.com/
How to attach files
Two different ways:
- Just drag it to the program window and send.
- Click Attach file → Your computer → Choose the file → Open → Send.
